My Experience at the Vienna State Opera

Few tips:

    • Pee beforehand

  • Come an hour before the show and line up outside.
  • When you arrive at the standing area you may see scarves wrapped around the poles. The standing ticket holders are ‘trying to mark their territory’ while they are somewhere in the building. You could move the scarves to the side and when the people do arrive you could pretend you do not know anything. Maybe even throw in ‘No English’ *any accent of your choice*
  • While the show is in session, DO NOT leave the standing area or else you can not go back in until the half way point. (go pee before the show!)
  • If you make too much noise, the seating ticket holders in-front of you will give you the death stare.  Also make sure your flash on your camera is off. Opps
  • Be patient If you do not have a good spot. Sit against the wall and wait until people start to leave.
  • Wear something comfortable and stretchy! It gets hot and uncomfortable.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please enjoy the show”
